![Shivangi Vasudeva x Iro Iro, 2026
The Takhat Counter Stool, presented at Design Tomorrow – India Design ID, continues my exploration of weight, memory and material responsibility. Its solid, blackened wooden form draws from the grounded presence of Indian vernacular furniture, resisting the pull toward ever-thinner, machine-led precision.
The upholstery, developed by Iro Iro (@iroirozerowaste ), is handwoven from textile offcuts, deadstock and other non-virgin materials from fashion’s excess, dyed in natural indigo. By reworking waste into something structural and lasting, the piece considers how furniture might rethink material value and permanence.
It asks how form and material futures can evolve together.

It asks how form and material futures can evolve together - slowly, and with intention.
